What's this?

Hello!

I found something new in my Comments section -- the area outlined in red below.

I didn't choose to add this; it just appeared by itself.  Does anyone know where it came from and how I get rid of it?!

Thanks if you know anything about it.

It's Tuesday!

Hi Everyone!

Yes, it's Tuesday which is the day I would normally be posting my card for a new Die Cuttin' Divas weekly challenge.

But I have decided to step down from the Diva Design Team. It's been a long run for me, and it's certainly been an honor to have been on a team with such very talented crafters.  Thanks to all the DCD ladies!

I'll still be here and hope to visit all my Blogger friends often, and hopefully post again real soon after a brief break.

Thanks for all your visits!

Mother's Day

I told my husband it wasn't necessary for him to get me a gift card for Mother's Day from Joann's (as he has generously done many times before for birthdays and other celebrations).  After all, I do have tons of paper crafting supplies that I could probably never use up from now until the day I die!  Not to be morbid, but I'm sure many of you are nodding your head yes right now, knowing exactly what I mean!

So my hubby sent this beautiful flower arrangement to me at my office this week!  Wasn't that sweet?  He knows how much I love to get flowers.

BUT, I went out to do some shopping today, and since I haven't been to my local Joann's for quite sometime, I just had to stop in and see if they had anything new.  Their Cricut accessories were on sale so I bought these Cuttlebug embossing folders that I've never seen before!

This is Cross My Heart, 5x7

This one is called Charles, A2 size.

And this one is Hugs & Kisses, A2 also.

I also bought a pack of Cricut mats (always good to get on sale for $9.00), along with some foam squares and refill tape for my ATG gun, which wasn't on sale, but I used a 40% coupon on that.  And look at these cute $1.00 stamps.  These were something I've never seen before either.

Certainly no competition for PK stamps, but I thought they were cute for only $1.00!  I just had to have them.  And I also had a $5 coupon to use on $25.00 or more in purchases. I love bargains!!  Guess I really am a shop-aholic!

The artificial flower bunches were also on sale for 60% off.  So tomorrow, I will visit the cemetery and put these flowers on my mother's grave and wish her a Happy Mother's Day.  She died in a car accident when I was only 18.

Thankfully, I have a wonderful daughter who I will be missing tomorrow since she moved out of state at the beginning of this year.  But we'll be together via Face Time on our phones.

Wishing all my crafty friends a very
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Go Ravens!!

I'm so excited that my hometown team is playing in the SuperBowl today, so I just have to show my pride and support. Can't wait for the game later today!

But better than that, my darling daughter is in New Orleans and will be going to the game today with her boyfriend and his Uncle.  How lucky is she!?!!  She can't say enough about the awesome city she's visiting and how exciting it is to be there.  Here's a few photos.

Go out with another ring, Ray!

And of course, all around Baltimore, people were showing their purple pride on Friday at work.  Here's the folks at my office that wore their purple on Friday.

I'm #82, the purple jersey.

GO RAVENS!!!!!!!

I Can't Pass Up a Bargain!

So, I went to my local Staples store today to get ink for my printer, and they had a small table near the checkout with some clearance items.  And I saw this scrapbook for $1.00, a 12x12 scrapbook (kit, more or less) for just one $1.00!!  Regularly $14.90.  Well, I wasn't even sure I could use it, but I figure I still have 20 years of scrapping to do on my daughter,so why not?!  You can't even buy a pack of gum for $1.00 these days.

The theme is "Kids" and it has 16 pages of layouts.  And they even included some cute die cuts and a sheet of stickers.

Sorry for the poor pictures, but it was getting to be dusk and I took the book out on my sunporch to try to capture some daylight so the flash wouldn't reflect off the pages!

I do think I'll use it, but for some reason, I'm feeling a little guilty...like I'm cheating on my Cricut!

Thanks for stopping by!! Hope you're having a nice day.

A Quick Note

I wanted to send a note to a friend so I put together this quick card. That's the MS Eyelet Lace punch--the border part of one of her punch around the page sets.  Love the intricate cut.

Question to my blogging friends:
Has anyone experienced problems with Blogger?
Is anyone using Google Chrome?

I could no longer post on my blog using Internet Explorer.  I was still on the old Blogger interface.  When I clicked to try the new Blogger interface, the message I received said, "your browser is no longer supported by Blogger, some parts of Blogger will not work and you may experience problems.  If you are having problems, try Google Chrome."

I'm not one to jump into anything, so after checking with some IT guys, I did load Google Chrome last night. This is my first post using using the new Blogger interface and Chrome.  So far, so good.  But I'd love to know if anyone else has experienced similar problems.

I have not made Google Chrome my default browser yet.  I'm going to try using that only for my blog at this point and see how it goes.  It's definitely different--of course, that could be the new Blogger interface which I  am not used to yet either!

Thanks for stopping by.  Love to hear from you!

Go Shopping!!!

Hi Everyone!

In case you don't know, Joann's Fabrics is having a fabulous sale on their papercrafting supplies--lowest price of the season.  Most items are 50% off, yes 5-0-% off!! I'm dying!  That applies to paper, stickers, stamps, punches, embellishments and more.  Some exclusions apply (I sound like an advertisement).  The sale ends 6/9/12.

Provocraft accessories (Cuttlebug folders, etc) are 40% off, and Cricut cartridges are $34.99 (at least in Maryland) through Memorial Day.

So if you have a Joann's near you, be sure to get out there and shop this weekend.  And if you don't, then go online.  I'm sure if you're like me, you don't want to pass up these great bargains!!

Come back and share what you got! Happy Shopping.

Something for your Craft Room

Ok, don't kill me, but I have to share another picture with you.  And I know you'll like it!!!

Isn't this the cutest tape dispenser you've ever seen!?!  It was to me.  I just saw one of these online over the weekend at Custom Crops, but it was pink.  Pink is okay, but I love red, and red is the accent color in my craft room.  Well, I was at Joann's on Saturday morning--one out of my local neighborhood--it was a huge store and they had so much stuff, I was beside myself!  I was standing there looking at the Cricut cartridges they had because they're on sale right now for $29.99!! But they didn't have the one I wanted: Nate's ABCs.  I might order it online.  Anyway, I turned around looking where to go next, and there were these adorable shoe tape dispensers!  Made by Scotch.  They also had a higher heel in black, and a red apple post-it note dispenser.  So I just had to have the red shoe!  My best purchase this weekend!

One other thing I wanted to share.  You probably already know this, but in case you don't, there are coupons available online at many sites, but I like this one and check it regularly for Joann's and Michael's coupons.  Right now there's a coupon for an additional 20% off your regular and sale price purchase at Joann's until 10/26.  And just about all their scrapping supplies are already on sale at 40% off!  Hope you can use them!  If this link doesn't work, let me know, and I'll try something else.  Thanks for stopping by again--I appreciate all my bloggy friends!!

What a Beautiful Fall Day!!

Hi Everyone,

I know you've heard this before, but I have to say it again... I LOVE FALL!  What a beautiful day it's been here.  Beautiful blue skies, puffy clouds, warm sun, cool air.  I just love it.  The leaves on the trees are turning more and more everyday.  My husband and I were working outside most of the day cleaning up the yard; putting all the garden stuff away to get ready for winter (sshhhh, I don't like that word!).  Here's a couple of pictures I'd like to share.

Just look at that sky; isn't it beautiful!?  This is our [still little] Dogwood tree surrounded by our mum garden.
Here's a new mum we just picked up for this season (we got 2 of them).  Isn't that a beautiful color?  I want to plant that in my mum garden so that next year, it will have a new color!
That's my hubby, taking a break.  But that's okay; he deserves it.  He works very hard and does a good job!
A silly flag we have hanging at the back entrance to our house  Look at that crazy squirrel hanging there!!
JUST KIDDING...It's not real.  Looks pretty real, though, doesn't it?!

WELL, THIS ONE IS!!

That's Henry, he's our yard squirrel.  He's been around for a couple of years now, and my husband got him to come up and take peanuts out of his hand.  It's really something.  Every day, Henry usually greets my husband at the garage as he leaves in the morning or comes home at night.

Well, hope you liked my pictures!!  And hope you're having a beautiful day too!!  Enjoy this wonderful weather while you can!  And thanks for stopping by!

Anyone Having Problems Posting?

I don't know if it's just me (or my computer), but is anyone else having problems posting?  It's been hit or miss all afternoon and evening.  Sometimes my comments are accepted with no problems.  Other times, after I've commented and hit the Post Comment button, nothing happens.  No pop-up box, nothing.  Sometimes, I"ll get a sentence that says...Redirecting.  And after seeing that, my comment is usually accepted.  Not sure if it's Blogger or just my computer.  ANYONE ELSE HAVING THESE ISSUES?

You Say It's Your Birthday?

A personal note to all my blogger buddies.  I've really been out of the loop lately, being busy at work and tired at night.  So as you've seen (or actually, haven't seen), my creations have been few and far between.  I need to get my mojo back and get those creative juices flowing again.  Visiting your blogs certainly helps, and I tried to make some visits today.  Seeing all the fall crafts is wonderful since fall is my favorite time of year, and I'm really wanting to make something soon!

But I must share with you that this weekend, I was busy for really good reasons!  You see, my birthday was on Friday--that's why I must love Fall so much, I'm a Fall baby--and I have had one wonderful weekend! On Friday, my husband took me to Atlantic City where we saw a concert that evening at the House of Blues called "Get the Led Out."  If you ever liked Led Zeppelin in years past, then you'd love this band.  They play all Zeppelin songs and they were fantastic!  Has anyone ever seen them?

Of course, we tried our hand at a few slot machines and poker machines--no big losses, and it was lots of fun!!  Came home on Saturday.  On Sunday, I had another birthday celebration with my daughter here.  My "baby" will be 23 next weekend, just 9 days after my birthday.  We enjoyed an "end of summer"  feast with Maryland steamed crabs, crab soup, and corn on the cob.  Yum...delicious!!  So it was definitely a terrific birthday weekend for me.

Now...hopefully...I can make a card or two, and get back into the swing of things.  I want to thank everyone that visits my blog and leaves me comments.  They're very much appreciated and so uplifting.

Oh, I must tell you of the crafty goodies I received from my husband and daughter.  They know what a fanatic I have become about scrapping!  Among other terrific gifts from my daughter, she also gave me a gift card to Joann's so I could pick out what I wanted! (so sweet of her since she's on a tight budget).  And my dear hubby got me the Groovy Times cart, several Cuttlebug embossing folders, a mini-sewing machine(!), and the CTMH Art Philosophy cart and package!  Lucky me, huh?!!

Thanks to all of you for listening, for sticking with me, and for stopping by to say hi!  Here's a card I made a while ago and never posted, and it's for ALL OF YOU!!

Who Felt the Earthquake on the East Coast?

It was felt from Richmond, VA up to Massachusetts is what I heard on the news.  I work north of Baltimore, MD, on the 4th floor of a 4-story building.  At first, I thought it was workers on the roof, but it got more intense and kept going (only seconds I'm sure), but scary enough that we all evacuated the building, wondering what in the world just happened.  Someone turned on their car radio and we started getting the reports that it measured 5.9 and was centered some 90 miles south of Washington, DC.  What a weird feeling!  I have never experienced anything like that before.  Legs are still a bit shakey, but I'm slowly returning to work (after I finish this post)!

Trying Out Some New Stuff

Hi Everyone,
(I realized after my original post, I didn't put a title on it; now it has one!)
Geez, I haven't made anything for a while, and I'm suffering from withdrawal!  I needed to make something, and I'll share that in a minute.

Let me first ask you.  Do you ever get to the point with this wonderful hobby of ours that you buy and buy and buy so much stuff, that you finally put up your hands and say, "Enough, I don't need another piece of paper, or embellishment, or new Cricut cartridge."   HUH!?   For me, well..........ALMOST!

I've said to myself many times, I have so many supplies, I could probably craft away for years before I'd have to really buy anything.  But, of course, I just couldn't resist going to Joann's for their sale on Cricut cartridges this week for $29.99!  Yep, I bought 2 of them:  Pack Your Bags and Simply Charmed.  And they also have a lot of items they've put on clearance, like 50-cent embellishments from K&Co., Soft Spoken, and Craft Essentials.  They also had some small Fiskar punches for $.97 and a set of 6 Sizzix texture plates for $.97!!!  Great bargains, and I just couldn't pass 'em up.

Anyhoo, here's the card I made with a new Cuttlebug embossing folder I also just bought--all Cricut accessories are 25% off right now at Joann's (sounds like I work for Joann's, doesn't it?!  But I don't)--so I took advantage of that and bought a set of cutting mats while they're very reasonable, and some vinyl too!  I've never cut on vinyl before, but I'll check it out!  Oh, and if you haven't tried this yet, try to pick up some of the Post-It Craft Paper that is also marked down to $.97.  I think it may have been originally priced at $5.99 for a pack of 6 papers.  It is really easy to use and great for layering.  My Joann's had all colors.  OK  here's my card...

I'm loving this card; gave it to my husband 'just because' I wanted to make something using the new embossing folder I bought and stamps that I've had for ages and have never used.  I used Kraft paper for the card base, 4.25 x 5.5; DCWV Latte Cardstock Stack (green); Fiskars 3-in-1 Valentrio corner punch; sentiment on front is Studio G clear stamp from Michaels, embossed with MS bronze embossing powder.  I finally got it to turn out pretty good this time--I think because of the shiny paper.  The sentiment on the inside is a wooden stamp from Michael's dollar bin, stamped with bronze metallic ink but not embossed (that stamp is so cute!).  And I used tiny copper brads for the owl's eyes.  Also inside, used MS doily punch for layering.  So do you like it?  And how are your craft supplies holding up?  Do we ever have everything we'll always NEED?  Probably!  But not everything we WANT.  Thanks for stopping by.

I won a Cartridge!

What a way to start my weekend!  I just learned that I won the Cherry Limeade cartridge from Joy of Obsessed with Scrapbooking.  Can you believe that!  I'm super excited, especially since she had 785 responses on her post about the new Hello Thursday carts.  What are the odds of that?!  You all know Joy, I'm sure, but go see the wonderful projects she made with the new carts.

Purple Flower

You've probably seen these big flowers at Michael's in the dollar bins.  It was so pretty, I felt I had to get it and make something with it.  It's rather simple, and after I put it together, I decided I just want to display it for a while!

So Close!

I now have 85 followers, thanks to many of you for spreading the word.  And thanks to all my new followers.  I appreciate everyone's kind words, and especially enjoy reading what you all do with your cards.  Can't wait to announce a winner of my first give-away!  And I can't wait to be able to make a card or something again.  I've been so busy, I just haven't had the time to make anything.  Plus I've got my craftroom torn apart.  So it's not the best time to easily find stuff.   I'm revamping my space, and can't wait to share pictures of the new digs with you!  Maybe that will coincide with reaching my 100th follower!!  Wouldn't that all be so cool?!

I'm Itching to Try Out My New Stuff

I've been online all night visiting everyone's blogs, looking at the New Year's blog hops with such great creations, seeing all the Top 10 "favorites" lists and suggestions, and reading about some good bargain shopping at the craft stores.  Now I'm itching to go shopping tomorrow, and to try out my 2 new cartridges I got for Christmas:  Lacy Labels and Celebrate with Flourish.  And I also got a bind-it-all so I can make more mini-albums.  Only made 1 so far, and I love it!  I'm inspired now, thanks to all you talented crafters out there!
