DCD's Tic Tac Toe Challenge!

Hi Everyone!

It's time for a new Die Cuttin' Divas challenge.

This week's challenge is...
Tic Tac Toe

And this is my card.

I used the middle row of the grid shown below, vertically.

Choose a row to create your entry.

I also have a few other components in my card (distressed and stitching) as I was initially trying for that combination.  Little did I think I could use three different patterned papers, but I did!

The die cut is from Cricut Country Life cartridge, and I modified the quilt patch a bit by creating my own design with my 1" scrap squares.

Here you can see the embossing I did on the spool as well as the corner squares of the quilt, just by using my scoring board.

Our sponsor for this challenge is...
The Paper Trail, who will donate a gift certificate to their scrapbooking store.

We hope you'll join us for the challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas. You'll have one week to enter your card, layout, or altered project.  Please remember to include which die cut you used and provide a link back to our site.

We look forward to seeing what you create!

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Everyone!

It's time for a new Die Cuttin' Divas challenge.

For my card, I used two Cricut cartridges.

Banner Flag from Art Philosophy cart cut at 2"
Fiskars Winter Wonderland border punch
Green ribbon
Button and twine
Green stickles
(may be a little hard to see but I also used glitter paper for the bear)

On the inside, I used another Fiskars border punch and a sentiment from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings.

Valentine's Birthday!

Hi Everyone!

I recently purchased the Suburbia cartridge and had the perfect reason to use it--to make a birthday card for my sister.  When I first saw this cart, I just loved all the 60's style images on it.  It really took me back to my "very" early childhood days.  So I thought my sister would get a kick out of it, too.  Here's the card I made for her birthday, which was on Valentine's Day!

The card is 5 x 6.5"
I covered the front completely with K & Co Valentine paper.
Used Elegant Edges to make the pink frame w/shadow, cut at 5-1/4" and embossed with my new Cuttlebug Baby's Breath embossing folder.
From the Suburbia cartridge, I cut "Joan" at 4" with shadow, and the lettering at 2".  The words were originally stacked together, but I didn't use them that way.
Tiny hearts were made with a punch and then stickled.

On the inside, I layered white on pink on black.  Used an EK Success birthday candle border punch across the top.  Isn't that just so cute!? I love it!

I'd like to enter the following challenges with this card:
Paper Playtime - use border punch
Oldie but a Goodie - red & pink, use something at least 6 months old
(the red valentine's paper is at least a year old)
Crafting by Designs - include a heart, but not for V-Day

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello Friends
and
Happy Valentine's Day!

I'd like to share the card I made for my hubby, and I must say I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out!  I've probably only made 3 shaped cards in my 2 years of card making, so it was really fun putting this heart shaped card together.  I found it on the Cricut cartridge Life's a Party which I recently purchased.

I used a number of cartridges to make this card:
Life's a Party - Heart shaped card cut at 5"
(the card measures 5" x 6" wide so it fits nicely in a
5x7 envelope)
3 Birds on Parade - "Love Shack" cut at 1-1/2"
Chore Chart - Bird cage cut at 2-3/4"
(no shadow with this image, so I cut it by hand and embossed it with Swiss Dots)
Tie the Knot - Love birds cut at 1"
Heart flourish cut at 2-1/4"
Embossed the red heart background with Cuttlebug Geometric Rings
(I love this new embossing folder!)

I tied a small bow with twine to the bird cage, and added some dimensional heart stickers from
EK Success.
Aren't they just so sweet?!

Finished off the inside with a few more paper hearts, matching the one on the front.  Typed the sentiment on my computer and then used the Center Point feature to cut the white heart.  Couldn't resist using "Tweet-heart"!  But I did have to cover up the rest of my sentiment!

Hope you liked my card.  I appreciate your visit.  Thanks for stopping by.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Pause Dream Enjoy - Mainly Red
Scrappy Moms Stamps - Valentine theme
Celebrate the Occasion - Valentine Anything Goes
Bitten by the Bug 2 - Use heart or cupid
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge - Be My Valentine
My Craft Spot - For Your Sweetheart
My Creative Time - Use embossing
Pumpkin Spice - Valentine
Every Day is an Occasion - Linky Party

Go Ravens!!

I'm so excited that my hometown team is playing in the SuperBowl today, so I just have to show my pride and support. Can't wait for the game later today!

But better than that, my darling daughter is in New Orleans and will be going to the game today with her boyfriend and his Uncle.  How lucky is she!?!!  She can't say enough about the awesome city she's visiting and how exciting it is to be there.  Here's a few photos.

Go out with another ring, Ray!

And of course, all around Baltimore, people were showing their purple pride on Friday at work.  Here's the folks at my office that wore their purple on Friday.

I'm #82, the purple jersey.

GO RAVENS!!!!!!!
