Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #130

Hi Everyone!

It's Tuesday and time for
another challenge at

This week's challenge is...
Just Because

No real occasion, but maybe you thought of someone today and just wanted to let them know, so make that card or layout "just because."

This card was made using Cricut's Creative Cards cartridge, which provides 20 different complete cards.  Just choose your papers, cut, and assemble.  The layout is provided for you.

We hope you'll join in the challenge this week.

You'll have one week to create your card, layout or altered project following the theme, Just Because.  Please be sure to use a die-cut and link your post back to the Die Cuttin' Divas blog site.

A Center Step Card

Hi Everyone,

I finally tried my hand at making a center step card.  I found instructions at SplitCoastStampers, and I adjusted some of the cuts so that the card would be a finished size of an A2 card, instead of a 5.5 x 5.5 card.  I will admit that filling in those small side and bottom sections was challenging, but I do like the way it turned out.  What do you think?

I took pictures outside for better lighting, but it seems that doesn't always guarantee a perfect photo either.  In this case, the chocolate on my cupcake appears much darker than it really was, which is why I also took some photos inside too, shown a little further down.

Ingredients for this card:
White cardstock cut and folded following this tutorial
Brown cardstock scrap
Patterned paper from DCWV Sweet Stack
Pink mat paper and confetti top of cupcake from MS Modern Festive
Two cupcake brads
My Creative Time "More of My Favorite Sayings" clear stamps
Red glossy cardstock punched with Fiskars circle punch
Cupcake from Hello Kitty cartridge
Inside sentiment is TPC Studio Happy Birthday stamps

These photos taken inside.

DCD Challenge

Welcome!

It's time for another challenge at

This week's challenge is...
Back to School

I used A Child's Year cartridge to cut this young boy image.  There was a corner frame attached to him which gave the illusion of a chalkboard, but I cut that off and provided a "real" one!  Haha!

The words are from Simply Charmed cart, and the stars are from a Fiskars punch.  Patterned papers are from DCWV Grade School mat stack.
Simple and basic, but I think it turned out real cute.

We hope you'll join in the challenge this week.

Die Cuttin' Divas Tuesday Challenge

Welcome!

It's time for another challenge at

This week's challenge is...
Use orange and white

I thought this would make a cute gift card to include with a present. The popsicle comes from Doodlecharms cartridge, the arrow label is MyCreativeTime, and the butterflies are from an EK Sucess punch.  The base card is from DCWV Citrus matstack, and the orange polka dot is Recollections paper.

Not knowing exactly what occasion I'll be using this for, I've left the inside blank at this time.

Be sure to check out all the wonderful inspiration from the other Design Team Divas.

Die Cuttin' Divas Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone!

Today brings another challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas
and this week it's
a Sketch Challenge!

Here's my card.

And here's the inside.

This card measures 5x7, with a black mat.  The yellow, blue, and pink patterned papers are all from a DCWV Mat Stack containing Bright Coordinating Prints and Cardstock, which is almost 3 years old now! It was one of my first paper purchases when I started making cards.  The label is a die-cut from my Art Philosophy cartridge, and that adorable sentiment is from the stamp set, Candy Speaks, created by Barb of Bug Bites! I masked off a few words so I could continue my greeting on the inside--I typed this part on my computer.  When I realized that I didn't have a cartridge with popcorn on it, I resorted to Clip Art and found this colorful image. Hope you like it!

So now it's your turn.  Are you ready for the challenge?

You'll have one week to create your card, layout or altered project following the sketch below.  Please remember to use a die-cut and link your post back to the Die Cuttin' Divas blog site.

Here's the sketch.

We hope you'll join in the challenge this week; we can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back again real soon.
