Wedding Card

This is the first wedding card I've made.  Used the Sweethearts cartridge for the heart, shadow, and silhouette cut at 3-1/2".  Sentiments from my computer printed on photo paper.  Ribbon from my stash, actually 3 different ribbons (I love them together!).  Silver, black, and red papers are from the DCWV Shimmer Stack.  White is from the DCWV Glitter Matstack.  (the picture doesn't show the shimmer and glitter that well.)  Used Cuttlebug Victoria to emboss the silver background paper.  This card is 5" x 6.5".  Punched the inside red paper with a Fiskars Heart corner punch.

I had a hard time getting a decent picture of this.  It was late and I was tired when I took it!!

Peachy Keen Challenge #50

I wanted to enter the Peachy Keen Challenge; it's their 50th one, and I also needed to make a card for my hubby for Easter.  So here's the card I made for both reasons.  For the challenge, you need to follow the PK sketch and include something metallic.

This is a 4.5x6.25 card.  I cut the white layer at 4.25x6 and embossed it with Diamond Plate cuttlebug.  The scalloped circle was cut from Accent Essentials at 3.5 and the bunny face was cut from Doodlecharms at 3.5.  I really like this bunny face stamped with the Peachy Keen eyes.  I used a metallic brad for the nose and drew in the mouth.  Cut the eggs at 1.75 real dial size (not sure why I had to use that feature but if I didn't, they were cutting at 1/2" or less).  Patterned paper and then solid paper was used for the shadow of the eggs but it didn't really seem to shadow, or maybe it was so slight, you couldn't tell.  Used some Easter ribbon and popped everything up.  The stamp was from Michael's $1.00 bin from last year.  I really like the inside sentiment (2 of them actually), also from $1.00 bin.  Thanks for looking!

"Hippity Hoppity, Happy Easter Day!"

Here's a simple Easter card I made that I can enter in several challenges.  First, how I did it:

The bunny is cut at 4" from Create a Critter.  I stamped her face with Peachy Keen Everyday Character Faces (well at least the eyes, I drew in the nose and mouth because I don't have the Critter Faces stamps yet).  Isn't she cute?!  Popped her up a bit on thin foam squares.  The yellow paper is from K&Co baby girl matstack, and the green is from Heidi Grace.  Added some white ribbon and 3 soft purple brads.  The stamp is from Michael's dollar bin.  The card size is 6.25 x 4.5.  I rounded all the corners.  On the inside, I used the same green patterned paper and topped it with the yellow paper punched with the MS doily punch.  What do you think?

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #56 - use a bunny or chick
Wacky Wednesday Challenge #35 - Easter theme
     Sentimental Sundays Challenge #57 - Spring/Easter
Picture Perfect Creations Special Challenge #6 - Easter
My Sheri Crafts Challenge #53 - bunnies

Thanks for looking, and everyone have a HAPPY EASTER!!

Birthday Cake Card

Made this card for a man celebrating his 70th birthday, but it would probably be appropriate for anyone young or old.  I'm pleased with how it came out.  This was cut from the Wrap It Up cartridge at 6-1/2" and the label from Lacy Labels at 3" fit to length.  The sentiment is from Fiskars Make a Wish Quotes.  Inside is stamped with Happy Birthday.  Embellished the chocolate cardstock with Divine Swirls and added some yellow ribbon from my stash.

I'm entering this into the Birthday Sundaes Challenge #5-Anything Goes Birthday Card. TFL!

An Easter Card

Here's an Easter Card I made that I'm also entering into two challenges:  Paper Cutz Challenge #86 (use a bunny, lamb, chick, or Easter eggs) and Cricut Cardz Challenge #69 (an Easter project).

This is an A2 card (4-1/4" x 5-1/2").
The bunny is cut from Just Because cards (3-3/4" Real Dial size) and I made the "patchwork quilt" paper from my pink patterned scraps.  Jessica at Chick-n-Scrap has instructions on how to do this.
Cut a bright pink mat (4" x 5-1/4") using Post-It Craft Paper (w/adhesive).  That was nice & easy to work with!  You should try it if you haven't yet.
The next layer is 3-3/4" x 5" using light pink and blue cardstock (embossed with Swiss Dots) to make this size.
Applied Easter ribbon (that I won from Carri) between the 2 mats.
Used a flower punch for the flower with a little bling, and a pink petal-shaped gem for the bunny's eye.

Thanks for stopping by.

Challenge at Creations by Gill M on Pets

This is an entry for the "CBGM Blog Challenge #4--Pets" over at Creations by Gill M  who lives in Scotland!  When I saw that this challenge was a call for any type of project showing a pet, well, I just had to enter.  As you may know, I have 4 cats, and I'd just love for you to meet them!

I made a layout of sorts, only larger, and put it in a poster frame (I think 18 x 22 or 24) so I could hang it in my office at work.  This was long before I had a Cricut or even a blog, so it's pretty basic, but I still love how it turned out.  Callie is the mama cat of Calbert, Blackie and Stripes.  Smokey was abandoned at the park across the street from our house and was playing near a storm drain when my husband found him.  Unfortunately Callie is no longer with us, but the siblings will be 7 years old in June, and we think Smokey is about 4-1/2 right now.  TFL!  Who else has a cat?

An Award from Karen

I received another Versatile Blogger Award, this time from Karen at Karen's-Kakes-Kraft, and I wanted to thank her for it. Thanks for thinking of me, Karen--it's much appreciated.  You should know that Karen also gave me my very first blog award back on January 5 of this year.  I had only been posting and blogging for a month, and I was so excited when I got her message telling me that she had given me an award!  I was so new to this whole blogging thing that I didn't even know what I was supposed to do with it.  But Karen walked me through the whole process, step-by-step.  That's when I knew I had found a real good friend.   Thanks, Karen!!

Spring Birthday Card

A very nice lady I know (a friend of the family) is having a birthday very soon, so I made this card for her.  Thought it would be appropriate to put a bunny on it since she has an April birthday.  I was going to enter this into the Birthday Sundae challenge but it seems I missed the deadline!

Here's the recipe for this card:
It's a 5x7 card that I cut using my paper trimmer.
Springy floral paper from stash; rounded the corners.
2-1/2" purple cardstock cut with scalloped scissors.
1-1/2" yellow cardstock strip.
Bunny from Create-a- Critter cut at 4".
Bouquet of flowers cut from Sweethearts at 2".  Then I colored them in with glitter pens.
Blue gems for the eyes, and purple gems on the right side.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by.  I love to read your comments.
