Triple Play!

Here's a quick share of a card I made for a man I work with that just retired.  He and I started employment in the same month, October, 22 years ago!  Not only was he retiring, his last day of work was on Thursday, October 31, AND it was also his birthday!  How 'bout them apples?!

Here's the card I made for him.

And on the inside...

The word October came from the Happy Hauntings cartridge, and the numbers are from Plantin Schoolbook.  I liked them better than the ones on the HH cart.  The notebook edge is made with a Fiskars punch.  I had stamps for all the sentiments!  And added 2 star brads to complete the card.

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by!

It's Fang-tastic!

Hello and welcome to Tuesday!

It's time for another challenge at

This week's challenge is...
Halloween!

I'm loving this scary (but cute) Dracula from the Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge!  Don't you?!
I cut him at 5" for this 5x7 card.  The fence was cut at 3" and I altered it a bit to fit behind Dracula neatly.  The grass and dripping goo are edge punches.  Added some ribbon and cut the tag with jagged scissors.

The stamped sentiments are from my design team sister, Barb of Bug Bites.  This is the Magic Spells set. Check out all her fun stamps here.

I made sure to pop up Mr. Dracula for effect.

We hope you'll join in the challenge this week.

You'll have one week to create your card, layout or altered project using a Halloween theme. Please be sure to use a die-cut and link your post back to the Die Cuttin' Divas blog site.  And check out the other Divas' projects for this week.

Thanks for stopping by; your comments are appreciated!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Exploring Cricut - Halloween
Cardz TV - Ghost and Goblin Party
Make My Monday - Halloween
Cut It Up - Halloween
Parade Your Crafts - Hallowen

Boo to You!

Hi Everyone!

Long time, no see!  I finally made a card.  Go me!
Here's my Halloween themed card.  I made this using the Cricut Happy Hauntings cartridge, which I recently purchased.  An oldie but a goodie, I suppose.  Think the images on it are quite fun.

The mummy, cat, grass, and tombstone are all cut from this cartridge.  The web border is a Fiskars punch called Webs We Weave, and the stamp is from Joann's dollar bins.

Would like to enter the following challenges with my card:

Little Scrap Pieces - Halloween
More Than Favors - Halloween
Party Time Tuesdays - Trick or Treat (Halloween)
Crafty Creations Challenges - Halloween Spooks

If you're on the East Coast and are experiencing the effects of Hurricane Sandy, please stay safe.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #64

It's Tuesday!  And time for another Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge.

This week it's a COLOR challenge:  use purple, black, and orange in your project.

It can be any theme, and I guess you could call my card a Halloween card, but I think it could also be used for birthday, anniversary,  or any relationship type card.

and here's the inside...

I think this turned out really cute.  Hope you all like it too.

Here's how I made it:
Black card stock cut and folded to A2 card size
Purple and black paper cut to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
Used Fiskars Corner Punch 'n Emboss (sorry, don't know what it's called)
but you can faintly see the little embossed diamonds below the cut.
The little "ghoul" is cut from Paper Doll Dress Up at 3-1/2"
Used Cuttlebug Divine Swirls embossing folder on her hair
Gold gem on her necklace
PK Everyday Character Face Assortment stamp
Oval punched light purple cardstock and 2 orange ones
Stamps from Bug Bites Magic Spells set
(aren't they great?!)

Our sponsor this week is Bug Bites.

And the prize is the Magic Spells stamp set.

So we hope you'll play along with this week's challenge.  It's a color challenge to use purple, black and orange--any theme you want.  You must use a die cut in your project and link back to the Die Cuttin' Divas website.  You'll have one week to create your card, layout, or altered project.  Winner will be announced next Tuesday when the next DCD Challenge begins.

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Treats

Using the Art Philosophy cartridge, I made this bag to hold some candy to give to my husband for Halloween.  Just like any other kid, he likes his candy too! So I'll give this to him tomorrow night.
On one side, I drew the ghost free handed and fussy cut it .
On the other side, I stamped the sentiment on orange paper, cut it out with a punch and cut the scalloped mat from Create a Critter, pg 56.

The bag is cut from Art Philosophy, pg 23 at fit to page, which cut the bag at 6-1/4".  This bag is short but fat, deeper than a bag I've cut before, but I can't remember which cart it was from. Thanks for stopping by.

I want to enter this bag into the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge: a project with a ghost.

A Halloween Card

I made this Halloween card to enter in a few challenges.  I love these "scary monsters" from Paper Doll Dress Up.  Just too cute, and there's many more on this cart.
This card is 4" x 9".  I used black cardstock as the base; then layered the grey striped paper which is a Halloween pattern.  The purple across the top is cut with MS drippy goo punch.  From Paper Doll Dress Up, I cut Frankenstein at 2-3/4", the mummy at 2-3/4", and the ghost at 2-1/4".  The trick or treat bag and the tree are also from PDDU and I think the tree is cut at 4-1/2" and trimmed to fit the card.  The pumpkin, spider, and BOO are Recollections stickers.  Used a woodgrain stamp on the tree; Cuttlebug Spots embossing folder on the ghost, and a Houndstooth embossing folder on Frankenstein's pants (although that didn't show up too well in this picture).  There's a few challenges I'm entering this in.

Halloween Card

Hi Everyone!

And thanks for stopping by.  I also want to thank all of you that visited and commented on my last two postings; I really appreciate it.  Tonight I made a Halloween card for some more challenges.  And I'm really liking this witch!

This card is 4-1/4" square.  I rounded the edges with a corner punch.  The "moon" is cut from Celebrate with Flourish at 3-1/2" with the witch and flourish layers.  I altered it a bit to fit the card since it actually ran over both edges of the card, so I snipped the bottom green layer a bit!  Used Cuttlebug Musical Flourish embossing folder on the moon, and stickles on the green flourish.  Cut two witches so I could put some [thin] foam squares between them.  Love that look.  And it was easy peasy!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
More than Favors, Wacky Wednesday - use purple, green, orange and black
Craft Junkie Too! - Link Up Party
You Had Me at Craft - Made it Myself Mondays - Link Up Party
