An Easter Card in a Box

I made a card in a box for my husband
for Easter.  So fun to make!

It was easy to do following one of the many tutorials out there.  This one folds to an A2 size card.  Actually, it's a little shorter at 5" because I thought the flaps were too long so I shortened them.

And look at these great eggs I found to put in my husband's and daughter's baskets.  I think they're a scream!

It's a beautiful, sunny day here in Maryland, temps at 60 degrees.

Happy Easter everyone!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge

This is fun!

A Tic Tac Toe Challenge at
Die Cuttin' Divas this week.

Here is the board.

I went diagonally, left to right...
Bunnies, pastels, ribbon

These little bunnies make me smile.  They are all My Creative Time dies, along with the sentiment stamp.  I cut the tag and used an MCT edge die for the scalloped edge.  Applied some ric-rac, a punched sun, and ribbon.

Hope you'll play along at Die Cuttin' Divas this week and enter your card, layout, or altered project into our challenge.  Be sure to include a die-cut, telling us what it is, and link your post back to the DCD web site.  We look forward to seeing what you create.

Thanks for hopping by!

Pastel Colors Challenge

Hi, so glad you stopped by!

This week at Die Cuttin' Divas, the challenge is...
Pastel Colors.

I recently bought these patterned Pastel papers by Core'dinations.  Aren't they pretty!?  Just perfect for this challenge.  I cut a lot of pieces because I wanted to use a variety of patterns and colors.  On the one hand, I hated cutting a new piece for a little butterfly, but on the other hand, why have the paper if I'm not going to use it!?  You know what I mean, I'm sure!!

The other "new" recent purchase I used was My Creative Time's Hello Chickie die and stamp set.  Isn't that little chick so adorable?

Here's the card opened. It's actually a birthday card with a springtime/Easter theme.

I even covered the back this time because my card base was white, and since it's so easy to do with this Sizzix flip-it die.

Hope you'll join in the color challenge this week.  Use pastels in your card, layout or altered project and be sure to use a die cut.  Link your post back to the Die Cuttin' Divas blog.  We hope to see you there!

Thanks for visiting me today.

A sketch challenge at DCD

Don't you just love sketch challenges?!

Well, play along at Die Cuttin' Divas
because this week, it's a
SKETCH CHALLENGE!

I made this card...

And here's the sketch...

I used Sweet Treats cartridge to cut the number candles for this special 21st birthday card.  The paper is Ki Argyle Paper Pad.  I hand cut the hexagon paper to use as the 2 background strips.  The scalloped oval is a Fiskars punch, which I layered with foam squares.

I put the yellow brads in each corner with small sun circles cut from Accent Essentials.  The card is a 5-1/2" square base.

We hope you'll join in the challenge this week.  Submit your card, layout or altered project following the sketch shown above and using a die-cut.  Be sure to link your post back to the Die Cuttin Divas blog. Check out all the great inspiration from our Diva Design team, and all the ways you can use this sketch.

DCD Challenge

Hi Everyone!

Tuesday brings another new challenge at

Use an umbrella in your project.

Looking for umbrella ideas, I really liked this cute bird I found on the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge.

4.5 x 6" kraft card base
Bird cut at 4.25
Fiskars cloud punch
Wooden stamp from Joann's
Foam squares to pop up the bird and sentiment

We hope you'll join in the challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas and make a card, layout, or altered project using an umbrella.  Be sure to use a die cut and link your post back to DCD's blog.

I hope my card gave you a laugh today; appreciate your visits and comments.
