Game On!
I made this card for my nephew's birthday. He works at a video game company! The image is from the Father's Day cartridge, by that creative genius, Curt Jensen. Let's give it up for Curt! Yeah Curt!! When I first used this cartridge, Curt left me a comment answering some questions I had about the cart. Click here and here to see the other cards I've made. Great images for those manly cards!
This is an A2 size card. I layered the patterned paper on solid green cardstock for the matting. Cut the game controller at 4" fit to length which made the height 2-1/2". As with all seasonal cartridges, there are 2 layers for each image and I used black cardstock for the bottom and grey cardstock for the top layer. Traced around the whole image with a black marker to outline it. I then cut the buttons from red cardstock, and using scraps from the first two cuts, I glued them all together. That way they were raised a bit when I glued them onto the controller. I also used Glossy Accents on them for some pop! The sentiment is typed from my computer and I inked the edges lightly. The inside sentiment is also from my computer, reading Happy Birthday. I'm quite pleased with this card; hope you like it too! Thanks for stopping by. --Pat

Great card! I love how you used the drop outs and glossy accents to make the details pop! Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteGreat card, I was a gamer until I bought a cricut.
ReplyDeleteLove it. That embossing really messes with your eyes against the circle background paper... soooo how I feel after a few hours gaming. (back in the day!) LOVED making Marios jump with that nintendo console. Curt is so clever and I love the way you have glossied the buttons. So authentic! x
