Die Cuttin' Divas Tuesday Challenge #49--Buttons, Bows, and/or Bling

This week's challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas is to use buttons, bows, and/or bling on your project.  You can use one or more of these items; but it's not required to use all three.

Die Cuttin' Divas is so pleased to be sponsored this week by My Craft Spot.  Kimberly has some great stamp sets, crinkle ribbon, and twine. Go check out her site. She is providing a set of stamps to the winner of this week's challenge.

I have to share a funny story about my card this week:
This card really morphed from one idea to the next.  My first idea was to make a heart by weaving ribbons together, and finishing it with lace trim.  I saw a sample of this technique in one of my books.  Before I started to do that, I changed my mind to just using the ribbons in a pattern, without weaving them, to cover the heart shape.  But I still tried to put the lace around it.  That didn't work too well, so I ripped took the lace off and decided not to add anything to the heart except for a pink heart shadow.  As I was going through this whole process, in my mind, I kept thinking that the challenge called for using "ribbon."  And oh boy, what a great card I had made using my red, pink and heart ribbon!  But the challenge actually called for "bows," not "ribbon."

Well, I didn't realize that until I went to share my card with the other DT members on our posting board. There I read the 3 items again:  buttons, bows, and/or bling.  It didn't say ribbon!  Now what?!  I dug through my stash and found the perfect red gem stringers that I put all around the card, and finished the corner off with a red heart on a paper clip. Now I have BLING!  Sorry for the long tale of woe...here's my final metamorphosis!!
This card is 5-1/2" square.  I rounded the bottom corners. Used design paper from K&Co. Valentine 12x12 stack (you can see it better on the inside pic). Embossed the shiny white card stock with the Heart Blocks Cuttlebug embossing folder. Used 3 different ribbons: red with scalloped edges, white lace on top of that, and the pink satin ribbon threaded through the lace (same one used on the heart).  Used 4 different ribbons on the heart.  I sprayed a piece of cardstock with spray adhesive to lay out my ribbon pattern, which worked really well for repositioning until I had the ribbons exactly as I wanted them.

I popped up 2 layers of pink heart shadows; I really like how that looks..

And here's the inside. The sentiment is a wooden $1.00 stamp from Michael's. Used some pink heart bling for the corners.

I'm going to also enter this card in the following challenges.
