Fun Birthday Card

I made another card using the Suburbia cartridge.

Unfortunately, I missed my girlfriend's birthday last Friday but was able to get this to her on Tuesday.  Might as well make light of my forgetfulness!  She got a kick out of it.  On the inside I wrote, "Sorry I missed your birthday.  Hope it was wonderful."

Both the image and the word Oops is from the Suburbia cartridge. The woman is <Connie> cut at 5".  Wasn't quite sure what she's supposed to be holding, but I figured a notepad or calendar page was just perfect for what I wanted to do with this card, so I hand printed the date on the little notepad.

The flowers are made with a punch and I added a silver center sticker.  The design papers are Echo Park, Everyday Eclectic.

I'd like to enter the following challenges with this card:
Pause Dream Enjoy - use foam tape (Connie is popped up on foam squares)

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge--Shaped Cards

Time for another
Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge!

This week ...
Make A Shaped Card!!

I thought this would make an adorable gift card for a Dad from his daughter (of any age), don't you think?

This castle card is cut from Life's a Party at 6".  I used my Tim Holtz "Bricked" embossing folder for texture and inked around the edges and windows and over the brick lightly, too.  The door is embossed with TH "Woodgrain" folder, both of which are sold together as a set.

Used my Fiskars border punch for the grass.

I'm sure many of you recognize this sweet little tag.  It's Teeny Tag Greetings from Emma's My Creative Time.  I recently purchased some goodies from her, and am excited to use them!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #115

We have a new challenge at
Die Cuttin' Divas!

RAINBOW COLORS

Use the colors of the rainbow in your creation; here's the card I made.

I used Groovy Times cartridge for the smiley face t-shirt with the rainbow wave!  This cart takes me back to my teenager years.  Lots of cute images from the 70's.  The Smile oval was actually found on A Child's Year cartridge.  I used Spots and Dots embossing folder on the light blue backgrond, and added a few star brads.

Follow the challenge and use rainbow colors in your project! You'll have one week to enter your card, layout, or altered project.  Remember that you must also use a die-cut somewhere in your project and be sure to link your post back to the DCD blog.

Mother's Day

I told my husband it wasn't necessary for him to get me a gift card for Mother's Day from Joann's (as he has generously done many times before for birthdays and other celebrations).  After all, I do have tons of paper crafting supplies that I could probably never use up from now until the day I die!  Not to be morbid, but I'm sure many of you are nodding your head yes right now, knowing exactly what I mean!

So my hubby sent this beautiful flower arrangement to me at my office this week!  Wasn't that sweet?  He knows how much I love to get flowers.

BUT, I went out to do some shopping today, and since I haven't been to my local Joann's for quite sometime, I just had to stop in and see if they had anything new.  Their Cricut accessories were on sale so I bought these Cuttlebug embossing folders that I've never seen before!

This is Cross My Heart, 5x7

This one is called Charles, A2 size.

And this one is Hugs & Kisses, A2 also.

I also bought a pack of Cricut mats (always good to get on sale for $9.00), along with some foam squares and refill tape for my ATG gun, which wasn't on sale, but I used a 40% coupon on that.  And look at these cute $1.00 stamps.  These were something I've never seen before either.

Certainly no competition for PK stamps, but I thought they were cute for only $1.00!  I just had to have them.  And I also had a $5 coupon to use on $25.00 or more in purchases. I love bargains!!  Guess I really am a shop-aholic!

The artificial flower bunches were also on sale for 60% off.  So tomorrow, I will visit the cemetery and put these flowers on my mother's grave and wish her a Happy Mother's Day.  She died in a car accident when I was only 18.

Thankfully, I have a wonderful daughter who I will be missing tomorrow since she moved out of state at the beginning of this year.  But we'll be together via Face Time on our phones.

Wishing all my crafty friends a very
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

DCD Sketch Challenge

This week, it's a...

SKETCH CHALLENGE

I made this manly card for my adult nephew, and the sketch made it easy to do!

Here's the sketch:

I used black cardstock for the base card.
Patterned papers are from DCWV Amber Autumn matstack.
Caramel colored mat was embossed with Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder.
Arrows were measured and cut with my paper cutter.

I didn't have a cartridge with a beer mug so I made my own using Love You a Latte for the mug and my Fiskars cloud punch for the beer foam, which I trimmed up to look more realistic.

The ovals are cut from Art Philosophy.
Cheers was stamped on cardstock and then trimmed to fit.
I've had those metal embellishments in my stash forever and finally had a chance to use them with some little black brads.
