Die Cuttin' Divas Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Happy 2014!

It's time for a new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas, and
this week's challenge is...
a Sketch Challenge.

I made this anniversary card for my sister and brother-in law, but shhh...don't tell!  It's coming up soon, and since she's not a blogger, I think I can surprise them.

Here's the sketch for the challenge, designed by the very talented, Georgiana!

Other news from Die Cuttin' Divas includes the addition of two new Design Team Divas!  Be sure to visit the DCD blog to welcome Connie and Shelly to the team.  And check out the creative projects by all the design team Divas.

To enter this week's challenge, make a card or layout following the sketch shown above.  Be sure to include a die-cut in your project  and link your post back to the Die Cuttin' Divas site by January13.

I think I really like the color combos I used.  The plaid and orange striped papers are from DCWV Animal Crackers.  The green paper with polka dots is from Recollections Bold Basics, as is the green diamond patterned paper.

The pears are cut from Just Because Cards cartridge, and the mat behind it came from Art Philosophy cartridge.  The mat was embossed with Musical Flourish and the leaves with Herringbone.  The sentiment is typed from my computer, and I popped up that and the pears with foam squares as you can see above.  The adhesive accents are from Heidi Grace.

I finished the inside with matching papers and applied a heart border along the bottom.

I'd like to also enter this card into the following challenges:
FCCB #192 - use a sentiment
Just B Creative Crazy - just because/anything goes
LSP Fun Friday Linky Party - anything goes

Thanks so much for stopping by; I appreciate your visits!

Die Cuttin' Divas Sketch Challenge

Hello!

Welcome back for another Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge!
This week is a sketch challenge.

Here's the card I made--it's an anniversary card for my husband!  But, shhhh, don't tell him.
Today is our 15th wedding anniversary!

Here's the sketch:

My card is made using a 5x6.5" pre-scored white card.
Covered the front with green cardstock from The Paper Company Cypress paper pack.
Patterned paper is K&Co. Classic K double-sided papers.
The pears are cut from "Just Because" Cards cartridge on Heidi Grace paper.
Edges are inked with Tim Holtz Old Paper Distress ink.
Sentiment is a Studio G dollar stamp.
Inside, I printed a Happy Anniversary sentiment to my DH on my computer.

Our sponsor this week is Pattie's Creations Digital Images.
She'll provide three images to the winner.

You'll also see some of her images used by our Diva Designers this week, so be sure to check out everyone's post!

Here's another view of my card; you can see that I popped up the pears and finished off the inside, too, with the K&Co. designer paper.

Hope you'll play along with us this week and create a card, layout, or altered project using the sketch design above.  Be sure to use a die cut in your creation and link your post back to the Die Cuttin' Divas challenge blog.  We look forward to seeing what you create!!

My 14th Wedding Anniversary

My husband and I will celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary this weekend, and I made this card for him.  I love how it turned out, and I think he'll love it, too.   It was fun to make!

Here's How I Did It
White base card is 5 x 6.5".  The black patterned papers are from Making Memories 8x8 B&W Paper Pad that I picked up at Tuesday Morning for $1.99 (one of my good finds!).  Ribbon is from Michael's $1 bin.  His & Her towels and towelbar are cut from Sweetheart cart at 3".  Used Cuttlebug Paisley folder to emboss the towels.  Some red bling to show up the towelbar.  The sentiment is computer generated. Popped up the towels and sentiment.  Inside I used the same paper and punched the black with my heart border punch from Recollections (I'm really liking that punch).  "Happy Anniversary" is stamped with Hero Arts clear stamp set, Everyday Sayings.  It has 20 nice sayings-all on the small size, but really nice fonts.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!  Appreciate your comments.
