Die Cuttin' Divas Anything Goes Challenge!

Time for another DCD Challenge!

It's Anything Goes!!

I made this card for a woman at work celebrating her friendship with two other women, which is why I went for the silhouettes from Forever Young cart.  The flowers and circles were also cut from that cart.  I used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 to cut the teacup at 2".  The stems and leaves are from Country Life cart.  The image was actually flowers in the grass, but I cut that away to use just the stems.  Embossed the leaves with Cuttlebug Herringbone folder.  Used MS Eyelet Lace punch to decorate the teacup, along with some crinkle ribbon and that cute little bow that I made with my new bowmaker.  Paper is from the DCWV Citrus matstack.  Three gems to top it off!

Our sponsor this week is Skrapatastical Creations.

Die Cuttin' Divas Theme Challenge

Hi and Welcome Back!

We have a new challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.
~Beach Theme~
(sand, sun, waves, crabs, seagulls, etc.--anything you would find or do at the beach)

We want to thank everyone who entered last week's Christmas in July challenge.  There were so many great entries!

For my card this week, I used A Child's Year cartridge.  I actually used 2 different images: Beach 2 for the umbrella cut at 3-1/2" and Beach 3 cut at 2-1/2".  The umbrella had it's own bucket at the left side of the sand, so that's where I overlapped the 2 images using the bucket that the little girl has.  It worked out perfectly!

I used Divine Swirls embossing folder on the blue background cardstock, and Houndstooth on the sand.  Handcut the banner and used a Studio G dollar stamp for the sentiment.

Our sponsor this week is Great Discounts and they will donate a Cricut magazine for our giveaway this week!

We hope you'll enter the challenge this week--create a card, layout, or altered project with a Beach Theme.  Be sure to use a die cut and link your post back to Die Cuttin' Divas.  We look forward to seeing what you create!

Thanks for stopping by, and for all your kind comments!
I really appreciate it.

It's Another Bridal Shower!

I went to another bridal shower today.  This was for my cousin's daughter who is getting married in September.  You may recall that my niece got married on June 1 and her shower was in April, for which I had made some decorations. Click here to see that post.

Here's the card I made for this shower.  Her colors are navy blue and pink. I cut the umbrella from the Sweethearts cartridge at 4" with layers.  The embossing was done with one of the 5x7 folders from the Cuttlebug set, Once Upon a Princess.  Don't you just love those roses?

I also made a shadowbox using her shower invitation.  The bride is cut from the Sweethearts cart, both the image and the words. I used Kassie's Brocade embossing folder on the gown and Swiss Dots on the veil. Popped up the bride and a layer of the cherry blossoms on the invite, which I cut from another copy.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  I really appreciate it!

Die Cuttin' Divas Christmas in July Challenge!

Hi Everyone!

This week's challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas is Christmas in July!

It was fun making a Christmas card at this time of the year.  This is the first one I've made for this year, AND the first one that I've ever made this early in the year.  A few new firsts for me!

Ingredients:
A2 size card
Covered front with plaid Christmas paper (bought as single sheet from Joann's)
Cut trees from Winter Frolic cart; one set is flipped.
Used Herringbone and Houndstooth embossing folders
Added gold gems at the top of each tree.
Sentiment on the front is from Bug Bites Mistletoe stamp set.

And speaking of that, Bug Bites is this week's sponsor.

And the prize is the Mistletoe stamp set!

So come and join us for this fun challenge.  Make a card, layout, or altered project with a Christmas theme.  Use a die cut in your project and link your post back to Die Cuttin' Divas.

White and Silver Wedding Card

I worked very closely with the requester of this card to make it custom and personalized for the recipient. I think it's my best card ever--I really love how it turned out!

Since I made this several weeks ago, I might not remember the cut sizes exactly, but I'll tell you everything else about it.  Here's how it started out.

I used a 5x7 white card, layered with silver foil paper.  This is the first time I used foil (which I got from Walmart--2 sheets in a pack for 97 cents), and I had no problem cutting it.  On top of the foil, I layered a piece of white Coredinations Premium Cardstock with Canvas Texture called Snowcap.  The center mat is white glitter cardstock embossed with Kassie's Brocade Cuttlebug folder, layered on another piece of silver foil.

Here's another view of it so you can see the glitter and shine!

The doves were cut on white cardstock using Celebrate with Flourish at about 3".   I embossed the wings with Divine Swirls and the bird's bodies with Swiss Dots.  The shadow is cut in silver glitter cardstock, and I layered that on top of a second shadow with foam squares.  The rings are from the Sweethearts cartridge cut at probably 1-1/4".  Because they're so small, I just layered them on top of each other to get the height I needed.

This sentiment was actually a stamp from Fiskars Just Married Quotes (a set of 19 clear stamps). I cut the plain oval from a Cricut cartridge at the size needed to fit the scalloped oval which is a Spellbinders die.  I used Brilliance Lightning Black ink to stamp it.

Here you can hopefully see the layers on all the images.  The sentiment inside is computer generated on white cardstock layered on silver foil to match the front of the card.

I have to say that the pictures don't really do the card justice.  I wish you could have seen it in person!

Thanks for stopping by!

Die Cuttin' Divas Sketch Challenge

Hello!

Welcome back for another Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge!
This week is a sketch challenge.

Here's the card I made--it's an anniversary card for my husband!  But, shhhh, don't tell him.
Today is our 15th wedding anniversary!

Here's the sketch:

My card is made using a 5x6.5" pre-scored white card.
Covered the front with green cardstock from The Paper Company Cypress paper pack.
Patterned paper is K&Co. Classic K double-sided papers.
The pears are cut from "Just Because" Cards cartridge on Heidi Grace paper.
Edges are inked with Tim Holtz Old Paper Distress ink.
Sentiment is a Studio G dollar stamp.
Inside, I printed a Happy Anniversary sentiment to my DH on my computer.

Our sponsor this week is Pattie's Creations Digital Images.
She'll provide three images to the winner.

You'll also see some of her images used by our Diva Designers this week, so be sure to check out everyone's post!

Here's another view of my card; you can see that I popped up the pears and finished off the inside, too, with the K&Co. designer paper.

Hope you'll play along with us this week and create a card, layout, or altered project using the sketch design above.  Be sure to use a die cut in your creation and link your post back to the Die Cuttin' Divas challenge blog.  We look forward to seeing what you create!!

Thanks for stopping by!

I'd like to enter this card in a challenge Jovan is having.
She's celebrating her 3-year blogaversary and her challenge is to enter a card that has a celebration theme--anything you want to celebrate, and I certainly plan to celebrate my anniversary!  Challenge ends July 17, so visit Cards by Jovan and celebrate her blogaversary.

Die Cuttin' Divas Color Challenge

A Big Hello to All!!

It's a color challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.
Use red, white, and blue!
and add a patriotic symbol, if you'd like.

Here's my card.

I used the Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge and cut the Liberty Bell at 5" on grey cardstock which I inked generously with Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink.  Shadow was cut on black cardstock.  This is a cartridge I've had for months now and just used it for the first time.  Looking at all the images in the handbook gave me such a patriotic feeling---it really is a great cartridge!

The patterned paper is from K&Co Americana 12x12 paper pad.  The design is just as shown with stars at the top and stripes at the bottom; I just cut it to fit the 5x7 card which is kraft cardstock.  I cut an off-white piece of cardstock as the mat.  Used some of my red, white, and blue twine that I just won from
My Craft Spot  and added some star gems.

On the inside, I cut the phrase that goes with the image.  It's cut at 2-3/4" in grey cardstock with a black shadow.  Added a red star gem as the "dot" on the "i".  Used the same off-white cardstock for this mat as the front and punched the corners with a Fiskars Americana corner punch--isn't that the perfect punch for this card?

This week's sponsor is Lawn Fawn

So we hope you'll join us this week for the color challenge.  Use red, white, and blue in your card, layout, or altered project.  Be sure to also use a die cut and link your post back to Die Cuttin' Divas by July 9.

Thanks for stopping by; I really appreciate it!

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:
