Flip Card

Hi Everyone!

Here's a card I wanted to share that I made a few weeks ago for my nephew's birthday.

This is a flip card from My Creative Time, but Emma calls it a pop-out card.

Using her dies and stamps makes it so easy to put a project together.

Thanks for stopping by!

With a cherry on top!

I made this birthday card for a friend at work, and I love how it turned out.  What do you think?

This is something I've been wanting to try--framing an image using a cut-out shape.  That scalloped oval is an older Sizzix die I have, so I just cut the appropriate size oval in the cupcake patterned cardstock from DCWV Sweet Stack and framed it.

The cupcake is from My Creative Time's Celebrate Good Times Stamp Set, and the cupcake frosting is from DCWV Animal Crackers matstack.  The sentiment is from More of My Favorite Sayings, and the Stitched Label Die and Small Stitched Scalloped Bow are also MCT products.

Here's a view from the side.  The cupcake is popped up on foam squares, as well as the cupcake paper layer, although it may be a little hard to see in this photo.

The inside sentiment is from the same MCT set as the cupcake.

Sure appreciate your stopping by, and hope you liked my card.

A 30th Birthday Card

Hello bloggy friends!

It's been a while, I know. I've been taking a break from crafting, but I actually made a card for my nephew's 30th birthday that I'd love to share with you all.  So if you're here visiting, thanks so much for stopping by.

I started with a kraft card base, and added a green mat inside and out, and patterned paper on top of that.  All papers are from my scraps.

All dies are from My Creative Time.

Thanks again if you're reading my post; appreciate your visit!

It's Tuesday!

Hi Everyone!

Yes, it's Tuesday which is the day I would normally be posting my card for a new Die Cuttin' Divas weekly challenge.

But I have decided to step down from the Diva Design Team. It's been a long run for me, and it's certainly been an honor to have been on a team with such very talented crafters.  Thanks to all the DCD ladies!

I'll still be here and hope to visit all my Blogger friends often, and hopefully post again real soon after a brief break.

Thanks for all your visits!

and here's my card:

We hope you'll join in the challenge this week and share your card, layout or project following the sketch shown above.  Please be sure to use a diecut and link your post back to the DCD blog.

Ice Cream Time

There's a new challenge at Carri's Double Click Connections.

and the theme is Ice Cream!

I used an 8x8 piece of cardstock from DCWV Sweet Stack, folded it in half, and then used My Creative Time's Stitched 3x4 Journal Die to make a small card.  I cut appropriate sizes for the center mat and shadow and rounded the corners.

The ice cream cone and sentiment are from MCT's Celebrate Good Times stamp and coordinating die set.  I then popped up the cone on some foam squares and added two of Carri's pretty skittles!

So what do you think?

I think I want to have some ice cream!

This week it's a sketch challenge at

I made a baby card following the sketch.  The stork and baby are from the New Arrival cartridge.  The scalloped ovals are Spellbinder dies, except for the small one which is a Fiskars punch.  All the patterned cardstock is from DCWV Nana's Nursery, Baby Boy.

Here's the sketch, which I turned horizontally to make my card, created by our Diva Host, Georgiana.

I popped up all the large cuts on the front of the card for depth.

Sketch Challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas

This week brings a
SKETCH CHALLENGE

For my die cuts, I used the Art Philosophy cartridge for the double ovals and the Father's Day cartridge for the recliner.  This is a 5-1/2" square card.  The patterned cardstock is from DCWV Grade School.  I used some Skittles from my friend Carri at Doubleclick AKA Busy Bee.

I think I'll use this for my husband's Father's Day Card.  He deserves at least one day to relax, haha!

Here's the sketch created by our Hosting Diva, Georgiana.

Join in the challenge this week and make a card, layout or project using the above sketch.  Be sure to use a die-cut in your creation and link your post back to the Die Cuttin' Divas blog site.

One more view from the side so you can see that the recliner is popped up on foam squares as is the "Relax" tag that I typed on my computer and punched out using a "brick" Fiskars punch.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

For the Boys

Hello!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  I had 3 nice days off, so it was great!

Today is my DT post for Die Cuttin' Divas, and this week's theme is
 "All About the Boys"
   (masculine card)

I pulled out my Father's Day Cricut cartridge, and wanted to use this boat.  Making this card made me wish I had been out on a boat over the weekend.  It certainly looks inviting, and the weather was beautiful here in Maryland.

Aside from blue, white, yellow, orange, and red cardstock, I used papers from DCWV Photo Stack 2, which made it easier for me to make the sky, land and water effect I was looking for. I used foam tape to give the waves some depth.

The sun is made with My Creative Time Build a Banner Kit and the sentiment is from one of the new stamp sets by Craftin Desert Divas, called Summer Lovin'.

We hope you'll join in the challenge this week, and make something masculine.  Be sure to use a die cut in your creation and link your post to the Die Cuttin' Divas blog site.

We look forward to seeing your creations!

New Challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas

This week's challenge...
Wobble it or add dimension

I don't have any wobbles, so I added foam squares to my card to pop up the sentiment and the banner.

Now don't tell, but this is for my nephew, Eric, for his upcoming birthday!

I used My Creative Times dies and stamps:
Fun Ticket stamps
Ticket dies
Build a Banner kit
Lowercase fun dies
Stitched 4x6 journal die
Ribbon
Skittles!

Hope you'll join in the challenge this week.  Make a card, layout, or project using a Wobble.  But if you don't have a wobble, then add dimension to your creation.  Link your post back to the Die Cuttin' Divas web site.

Thanks for stopping by.  I really appreciate it.

Sketch Challenge

Time for a
Sketch Challenge at
Die Cuttin' Divas!

This is the card I made.

Here's the sketch.

As you can see, I decided to turn the sketch for my card so I could use the car die cut on it.  The car is from the Cricut Father's Day cartridge.  I used silver metallic paper for the wheels and grill, so it was a little hard to photograph.

We hope you'll join the challenge this week using the sketch shown above.  Be sure to use a die cut too, and link your post back to Die Cuttin' Divas.

I'd like to link to these challenges:
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes
Little Scrap Pieces Show It Off Saturday - anything goes
DL Art May Linky Party - anything goes

Girly Girl

Hi Everyone!

It's Tuesday, so there's a new challenge at
Die Cuttin Divas.

This week, it's Make It Girly.

And I don't think you can get much girlier than this card!

This card measures 5 x 6-1/2".  I found that cute background paper in a barely-used K&Company paper pad called Berry Sweet.  The princess is cut at 5" from Birthday Cakes cartridge and I added the doily trim at the bottom of her dress, along with her crown, which are both made with edge punches.  The sentiment is an All Around Stamp from My Creative Time. I gave her a PK face.  Of course, I had to add glitter in all the right places, ribbon, pearls, and a heart gem.

We hope you'll join in the challenge this week and link up your "Girly" project to Die Cuttin' Divas.  Be sure to use a die-cut too.

Thanks for stopping by!

DCD Challenge

Here's the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas this week.

In honor of Earth Day (today), use something
RECYCLED.

I was having trouble coming up with something recycled.  I had thought of repurposing a container, but didn't want to duplicate what my design team sisters were doing.

So I recycled a calendar my daughter gave me years ago.  It was a desktop crafty calendar intended to be re-used for making scrapbook pages, etc.  I know, not very creative!  But I was happy to put it to use since I've only used it maybe once or twice.

I pulled out these pages to start, and cut the party bird from the Birthday Cakes cartridge.  I think the pink polka dots that I wound up using on the bird look much better than my original selection of the reddish-orange paper.

Be sure to visit the Die Cuttin' Divas blog to see all the other recycled projects made by our Diva Design Team.  We hope you'll join in the challenge this week using something recycled in your project.  Be sure to use a die cut, too, and link your post to DCD.

Thanks for stopping by; appreciate it!

I'd like to enter this card into the
BBTB2 challenge - use a bird.
