Paper Dolls, Anyone?

Gee, does anyone remember playing with paper dolls?  Dolls that you punched out of a book with a bunch of different outfits from dresses to pants to pajamas.  You had to cut the outfits out and bend over the little tabs to hold the clothes in place on your doll, but they never held very well, did they?!

Making this card was sort of like playing with paper dolls.

This is Kayla and she is one of the 10 girly images available on the Rock Princess cart.  It was fun "dressing" her in this hip outfit with boots!  Cute, isnt' she?

Kayla was cut at 5" with a shadow, then attached to navy blue cardstock which was embossed with Spots 'n Dots Cuttlebug folder.  The background paper is from DCWV Hippie Chic.  Appropriate, isn't it?!  Used scraps for all the other cuts. The word "fabulous" was cut from the Forever Young cartridge.  That's another cartridge that contains 20 silhouette "paper doll" images that you can dress up, and it's also one of my favorite cartridges.

Another Manly Birthday Card

Here's another birthday card for a man. The recipient is actually my niece's husband (you know, the one that got married this past June).  I used the Cricut Father's Day cartridge.  Have used this cart for other manly cards, but never this image before--I think it turned out pretty cute!

The paper is from DCWV All About Boys. The design is sun-rays streaming from the lower left corner to the upper right corner with stars in the background. Thought it looked pretty cool with this image. On the inside, I typed a happy birthday sentiment on matching gold solid paper.

Purse-onality!

Hi All!

I'm sure everyone recognizes this cute sentiment!  It's from My Pink Stamper's Pinka-licious stamp set. I think it's the first time I used it on this fun birthday card I made for a co-worker.

The paper is from DCWV 8x8 Sweet Stack, and the lace border is part of the design.  Plus the dp was more like cardstock, so just by folding it in half, you've already got the beginnings of a cute card.

The purses were cut at 2" from the Forever Young cartridge, with added bling, stickles, and shadow.  I added the ribbon over a pre-printed one and tied a bow.  Stamped the sentiment on white cardstock and cut it with  my Marvy oval punch, with another oval behind it for a somewhat shadow effect.

50th Birthday Card for a Man

Here's a birthday card I made for a man who is turning 50!  

The computer and numbers are cut from Cursive 101 cartridge.  The designer paper is from DCWV Natural matstack.  The sentiments are computer generated and cut into rectangles with shadows.

For something a little different, I trimmed the right edge with some black cardstock cut with a pair of deckle scissors.

I double layered the computer with foam squares in between.
