And I Ain't Lion!

I made this easel birthday card for a woman at work.  My goal was to make a cute card and I just loved this lion on the Life's a Party cart that I recently purchased.

This is an A2 size easel card, using green cardstock as my base.
The design paper is from DCWV Stack 7 and the colors in it were a perfect background for my lion.

The sentiment is a wooden stamp I bought at Joann's, punched with my Marvy oval punch.

For the inside sentiments, I typed both on my computer and printed them onto gold cardstock.  The border punch is Fiskars used on the dark orange cardstock and then layered with the designer paper, and the  Happy Birthday sentiment.

I used foam squares to pop up the lion and the oval sentiment.

A last minute touch was to use Glossy Accents on the lion's eyes and nose.  And it really made such a difference!

Die Cuttin' Divas Color Challenge

Hello!!

This week's challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas is a color challenge.
Use yellow, orange, purple and grey

I wasn't quite sure what to do for this challenge, so I started by adhering my 1" yellow and orange square scraps in a checkerboard pattern to a white piece of paper and cutting it to the size I wanted.
Ran that through my Sizzix using the Cuttlebug Tiny Mosaic embossing folder. This card is A2 size.

The stamps are Inkadinkadoo $1stamp set.  The ticket die cut is from Art Philosophy cartridge.  Popped the tickets up on foam squares, added some purple crinkle ribbon and 3 purple heart brads.  I'm going to call the inking grey, well it's close!  I'm thinking this card could be used for an anniversary or birthday card.

Our sponsor this week is the Cutting Cafe.

So let's see those projects using the colors yellow, orange, purple, and grey.  Link your post to Die Cuttin' Divas and be sure to include a die cut.  Sure hope you'll join the challenge this week and submit your project

Thanks for stopping by; we look forward to seeing what you create!

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge

Hi Everyone!

It's Tuesday and time for another Die Cuttin' Divas challenge.

This week's challenge is to
use an airplane, glider, or helicopter for any occasion

I created this cute card.

I thought this would make a sweet birthday card for a young child.  I used Cricut's New Arrival cart to cut the airplane and the banner.  The cloud was made with a Fiskars punch and embossed with Divine Swirls.  Added some ribbon and a little Liquid Pearl in the center of the propeller.  Oh, and a little green and white twine to "pull" the banner.  The sentiment on the front is from Docerela's Mix & Match II stamp set, and the inside is TPC Studio stamps.

Our sponsor this week is Designs on Cloud 9

Be sure to visit Die Cuttin' Divas to see all the projects of the Design Team--it's fun seeing all the different airplane cuts that Cricut offers.  Then we hope you'll make your own project using a plane, glider, or helicopter and link your post back to Die Cuttin Divas.  Be sure to use a die cut as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm joining the challenge at the Happy Birthday blog hop for Diana at D.L. Art.  The hop was August 6, but you still have until 11:59 pm tonight to submit your entry for a chance to win a Love You a Latte Lite Cricut cartridge.  Thank you, Diana, for this opportunity!

And I want to wish you a happy belated birthday!  Here's the cute little card I made using the Wild Card cartridge.  I thought the present shape was just perfect.  I added a little tag to it with my greeting and a button with twine to top it all off.

I'm the Guest Designer at Little Scrap Pieces!

Hi Everyone!

I’m so happy to be guest designing today for the Fun Friday Challenge at Little Scrap Pieces.   When Karen asked for volunteers to do this, I was thrilled to be chosen!   Thanks for this opportunity, Karen!

As I looked back through Karen’s challenges, some of the ideas I had in mind had already been used.  But I didn’t see a birthday theme.  So I thought, who couldn't use another birthday card in their stash?  I made this 5x5 card below:

Bright, isn’t it?  I do love the plaid paper—it’s from DCWV All About Boys.  Then I used matching colored cardstock from my scraps.  All of the images are from the Sweet Treats cartridge. The scalloped ovals are Fiskars punches, and the sentiment is from MPS Pinka-licious stamp set.

Hope you’ll enter the Fun Friday Challenge at Little Scrap Pieces.  Check it out!

Thanks for stopping by.  Your visits and comments are always appreciated!
